Help us build a honeymoon
We have a home and most of what goes in it, so we skipped the toaster registry. What we're saving for instead is two weeks in Portugal — Lisbon, Porto, the Douro Valley, and Madeira.
Every card below is one real piece of that trip. Any amount helps, nothing is expected, and we'll send you a photo from whichever one you pick.

Michelin dinner
One long, ridiculous, many-course dinner we would never book for ourselves — the kind of meal we will still be describing to you a year later.
$

Douro Valley river cruise & winery tour
A day on the river through the terraced vineyards of the Douro, with stops at the quintas along the way.
$

Airfare to Portugal
The least romantic and most necessary part of the honeymoon: the seats that actually get us across the Atlantic.
$

A round of poncha in Madeira
Madeira's local specialty — sugarcane rum, honey, and lemon, stirred with a caramelized wooden muddler. Buy us a round.
$

The Madeira toboggan ride
Two men in straw hats push a wicker sled down a steep Funchal street with us in it. This is a real form of transportation and we are doing it.
$

Madeira hiking passes
Permits for the levada trails — the footpaths that follow Madeira's old irrigation channels along the cliffs and through the laurel forest.
$

Food tour in Porto
An afternoon of eating our way through Porto: francesinha, pastéis de nata, tinned fish, and a great deal of port.
$

Tuk-tuk tour in Lisbon
The fastest way up Lisbon's hills without walking them. Alfama, the miradouros, and all seven of the city's hills in one go.
$

Fado show in Lisbon
An evening of Portugal's national music in a small Alfama fado house — guitar, voice, and a room that goes completely silent.
$

DIA parking
Wildly unglamorous, genuinely appreciated. Two weeks of airport parking at DIA costs about what a nice dinner does.
$

Baby fund 😉
No announcement here, no news to report. Just a quiet little fund, sitting patiently at the bottom of the registry. Someday.
